At Inverclyde Time Teamers we decided it was time we got our very own website. There are a number of reasons for this. The prime reason was to allow a different group of people to be able to access our content.
Up until now, we have done all of our public posting on our Facebook group but we have to acknowledge that not everyone likes using or is even a member of Facebook.
By having our own website our content is now available and accessible to anyone who has access to the internet.
Will we still continue to post on Facebook? Yes, we certainly will. Our Facebook group has seen incredible growth since we first set it up, so expect to see just as much content being posted there as always.
We will also be posting regular content on this website and when we do we will share the link on our Facebook group.
Another important reason for building our own website is to have more control over the layout of our content. When you post on Facebook it is not possible to insert images into the content. If for example we have a large text post and would like to place some images within the content, this is simply not supported by Facebook.
With this website, we can create articles and have the images placed just where we want them. We can now place images so they are within the context of the article. This is very important if you are trying to use an image to show something that is relevant to that specific piece of text.
We will continue to grow this website and we hope it will become an important resource for anyone interested in the history of Inverclyde.
